On August 6th, 1945, a decision made by the Americans caused the world to realize the tragedy of what nuclear weapons can
make. The first atomic bomb ever to be used in war was dropped over a city in Japan, Hiroshima. It opened the eyes
of people around the world, no-one knew that the effects could be so drastic. It changed the views on warfare of many people
and it clearly speaks for itself that it should never be used again against the human race.

"The bomb exploded with a force of 13 kilotons, for a moment the heat of the
bomb was 900 times hotter than the sun. A blast of magnesium light burst in the middle of the city, like a light bulb that
blew out. The blast produced up to 4000ºC within a diameter of 9km, near the
centre of the city, by the hypocentre. An enormous cloud that
resembled a mushroom blew up into the sky, creating darkness beneath it."
"The city was 9/10 covered with smoke and a column of white cloud... I honestly have the feeling
of groping for words to explain this or I might say, my God, what have we done? Everyone on the ship is actually dumbstruck,
even though we had expected something fierce." -co-pilot Robert A Lewis
"The next day some of the buildings
were still burning, and the next day, and the next day..." -survivor Keiko Ogura
